FWIW, I've never used anything BUT VOX for SSB, RTTY, and other digital modes.

The key is the first part of George's advice to use the PC sound card for system sounds and the USB sound card for computer sound to/from the radio. Also FWIW, the SignaLink is not a great audio interface, and other lower cost units are better.
