That happened to me a few times but I noticed that each time it did, either the sent or received signal report boxes were empty.  Once I filled them in (from the WSJTX line item) I could hit Log and it would continue....until the next time.  Maybe 10-15 over the course of the contest, which was about 14 hours for me.
