Dave, A better link is this,http://dllsearch.net/dlls/k/kernel32-dll-file
You copy this .dll into the System32 folder, C:\Windows\System32
then register it using a command window, C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
Right click on this .exe and select Run as Administrator.
At the command prompt copy/paste, regsvr32 kernel32.dll Then hit Enter on
the keyboard.
You may need to reboot. This site has a list of available kernel32.dll
files for all Win systems/versions,

Register the kernel32.dll file in Windows

The Regsvr32 tool is a command-line utility that can be used for
registering and un-registering OLE controls like DLL and ActiveX (OCX)
controls in the Windows operating system. If you find that some of your
Windows functions are not working properly, you may need to register your
dll files.

To register the kernel32.dll file, open a command prompt as an
administrator and type:
regsvr32 kernel32.dll

To un-register the kernel32.dll file, open a command prompt as an
administrator and type:
regsvr32 /u kernel32.dll

Dave, You can copy/paste that file into the System folder but in
order to make it work you need to register the file that was just
pasted in the folder.
Search for how to register a .dll file that is pasted on Google.

Hi Neil and All,

I checked old mails and in end of May 2020 Bill (sk) told the v2.2.0
dropped XP support.
(see Re: [wsjt-devel] Support for XP 28 May 2020)
So the last version for XP is v2.1.1. BUT there are a lot of
improvements and even non-backwards incompatible changes (at least EU
VHF contest messages) made into WSJT-X and using XP may not be a good
choice at all.
