You might try running ldd against the binary giving the error . . . if there are missing libraries, it should tell you (although I would not expect your build to have completed linking if anything was missing.) Was there another version of hamlib on this system prior to your build? IE, any chance you are hitting an old binary? (FWIW, I run WSJT-X on Linux Slackware . . . no inherent issues . . . ).

I have a PC running Linux Mint 21 which is for all practical purposes Ubuntu 22.04.  I have wsjt-X 2.5.4 built from source running perfectly.

Because I want a hamlib not associated with wsjt-x when I'm not running wsjt-x, I downloaded and built from source hamlib 4.5

Hamlib 4.5 configured, build, tested and installed without any error.  A good clean install from what I can see.

executing rigctl --version runs and shows that I do indeed have 4.5.

But when I try to run rigctld --version, I get the following error message:

 rigctld: symbol lookup error: rigctld: undefined symbol: network_multicast_server

I see in the hamlib developer archive that another person wrote about this error, but there has as yet been no response to it that I can see.  Google searches and reading through the documentation has not so far provided anything useful to me in running this problem down.

Wondering if anyone hamlib savvy might have some ideas.
