Very interesting read about time sync and your simultaneous WS/JT decoding setup! I just made my first FT8 contact yesterday, so I am very much in learning mode now. I use NetTime for time sync, but the ability to easily set an offset DT for working the outliers seems to make a lot of sense, so I will probably switch to rsNTP myself. Does it support the WS requirement….” We do not recommend SNTP time setting tools or others that make periodic correction steps, WSJT-X requires that the PC clock be monotonically increasing and smoothly continuous.” And why is this that important unless a time adjustment occurs during a decode sequence or during transmissions. How often do we really need to sync anyway!
