The IC-761 is of an age that does not support PTT via CI-V command.
You will need to use a second serial port for hardware PTT, a CI-V

I am using a cable I had from computer control for a IC-725, connected to the 9 pin RS-232. I have tried even the USB serial converters with no luck.
The radio will work on HRD just fine.
Appreciate suggestions here. I like the way the ICOM works.
