Ed although I haven’t yet tried RC3, I had the same experience with RCs 1 and 2 on my RPi 400. I ended up compiling from source.

I used this to do so:

https://linuxhint.com/build-wsjt-x-source-raspberry-pi/

I think I had to delete the man page and docs commands to get it to build though. Hope that helps.

I recently decided to update my Raspberry Pi 3B+ to run under the 64-bit version of Raspbian (Debian-based) and now wish to install WSJT-X 2.6-rc3. I downloaded wsjtx_2.6.6-rc3_arm64.deb from the WSJT Princeton web site to my desktop. The file is an archive. I also updated my system with the dependencies as specified in the WSJT-X User Guide.

I first tried to install using the terminal command given in the WSJT-X User Guide: sudo dpkg -i wsjtx_2.6.0-rc3_arm64.deb and received an error that no such file or directory existed.

I then tried double-clicking the archive file (that I had set to download on my desktop) and a window with the question "Do you want to install this file?" opened. I clicked on Install and a window opened with the message "Failed to install file" opened indicating that it could not find a package that allowed the action to complete.

I am no Linux expert and would appreciate any assistance in installation of this version of WSJT-X.

Thanks,

Ed, K0KC
