I also can't reproduce Alessandro's initial result on persistence of
decode depth when closing and restarting WSJT-X.

I can however see a difference between Win7 and Win10 (but, Win7 has no
radio connected, while Win10 is CAT controlling a radio) when switching
modes. On WIn7, decode depth fast persists when changing from Q65 to Echo
and back to Q65. On Win10, same procedure switches from fast to deep. The
change seems to occur when switching to Echo from Q65, in that the greyed
out Decode menu in Echo shows Deep selected.
