Should make the loss of information less awkward, does an FT991 have
the usual band-stacking registers that most radios have these days? A
quick look at the CAT commands shows they're not available via CAT
commands. 15 bands x 3 frequencies is not too bad.

If he has some sort of firmware corruption problems then really the
only fix is to bite the bullet and flash the latest version to a clean
radio after grabbing the available settings.
