My FT991A was Intermittently shutting down. When WSJT keyed it, it would reset. I checked my power supply and power cables and all was well.
What I found was, apparently the antenna tuner does not “remember” where it’s has been. When I change bands I HAVE to activate the tuner to match, then I have no Issue.
I only use it on 80-40-30 using a 80M doublet

I’ve used multiple shielded cables and every setting I found recommended by anyone - all without a lasting cure. I was running about 40 - 50 watts on FT8 and bet everything got overheated.
