I agree with George, once per half hour should be easily good enough, unless your motherboard is just awful. There are tons of free programs that will do the job in windows. All the rest of this stuff tends to be Angels Dancing on the Head of a Pin.

For fun, you can't beat a cheap $15 hockey puck GPS and the NMEATime2 program, but it is way, way, way overkill. 73, N0AN

Every FIVE minutes is WAY too often unless your computer clock is massively drifty.  This can cause decode errors as every NTP server access does steal CPU cycles that otherwise could be used for decoding.  Start with 60 minutes and watch the DT column and if it stays about 0.5 or less, then you are good to go.  If not, then move to 45 minutes and watch the DT, and so on down.  The FT maximum error rates are FT8, 2.5s and FT4, 1.0s.  Still it is best to move away from Dimension as it's known to be unreliable the past few years.
