I have a Yaesu FT840 rig. the interface is an easy digi really only used for the audio transformers initially. The CAT would be ptt no audio. using 2.2.2 of wsjt-x.
since I posted, I switched to a usb to serial adapter and am now doing the ptt from the easy digi.and have made a few contacts already. I would still like to have frequency control using my CAT cable if possible but so far no luck

Hi all. Ive been so excited to built my
interface and get started. I am stuck though.
I am able to receive through WSJT-X and see
all the QSO's going on. when i transmit, the cycle only
engages for about 3 seconds and then stops. After 2 or 3
attempt I get an error: Hamlib error:
Communication timed out while getting current vfo
frequency. before transmitting I can receive all day
and VFO tracks correctly with the rig.
I was thinking of going to PTT from
my interface rather than CAT cable but was hoping it
would work.
thanks in advance.

Dave,
what rig are you using? What does your interface convey, i.e. is
it CAT serial and audio, or PTT and audio, or just audio? Which
version of WSJT-X are you using?
