I can't believe that this topic is rolling on still but if you are worried about how hot your final gets there is yet another item to take into consideration that has been overlooked.
If you have a high SWR but are still able to transmit without your rig going into protect mode then things will get a lot hotter a lot quicker........
Somehow I think the original recommendation to do with running FT8 at less than the maximum that your rig can produce had more to do with keeping a clean signal than actual duty cycle issues.
