What are some of the better sound cards? Great to know what not to get, but does not provide sufficient info to make a decision on another device.
Thanks,

The only comment I'd add to Jim's worthy document is don't buy or use a SignaLink-USB data interface device!
The circuit design of the SL-USB has certain well-known shortcomings that result in the LF noise performance of the device, up to a few 100Hz, being typically 20dB worse than even a cheap USB audio dongle. This might not seem to be of any great consequence but it can have a significant effect when WSJT-X is trying to decode a weak-ish signal from a DX station operating in 'Fox' mode and transmitting typically around 300-350Hz on the waterfall. The excess LF noise of the SL-USB can easily mask a Fox's weak signal thus making it impossible for you to work him.
There are many better, and cheaper, audio soundcard solutions than the SL-USB (in my opinion, of course!).
